What is a Swash?
A Swash is a adapted toilet seat (also know as seat bidets) that utilizes two retractable water wands to provide men, women, and children a fresh and hygienic cleansing of posterior and feminine areas.

How does a Swash work?
The Swash actually replaces your toilet seat. Better than a conventional toilet seat, it has a heated seat and delivers a warm water wash with temperature, pressure, and pulsation adjustability. Two self-cleaning retractable wands are used, one for the posterior wash and another for the feminine wash. All functions are easily operated at the push of a button through side-mounted controls (Swash 400) or through a remote control (Swash 600). The Swash 600 has an air dryer and a wall mounted remote control.

Will a Swash fit my toilet?
The Swash fits over 95% of residential toilets in the US. A Swash will even fit Kohler one-piece toilets. Unless you have a toilet with a square bowl or one that is wall-mounted, a Swash should fit your toilet. Just check your toilet type, round or elongated, and choose the appropriate Swash If the Swash doesn't fit, return it to the place of purchse within 30 days and Brondell will refund your purchase price.

Should I order the Swash 400 or 600?
The differences between these models are the placement of the controls and the option of an adjustable warm-air dryer.
The Swash 600 includes a wall-mounted remote control that can be operated there or removed from its bracket for hand-held operation. The Swash 600 also has a dryer, which reduces or eliminates the need for toilet paper.
The Swash 400 has the controls attached to the toilet seat. If a single unit design packed with features at an incredible price is what you're looking for, the Swash 400 is the product for you.

What installation is required?
Standard installation is easy and takes less than an hour. Remove your existing toilet seat, install a mounting bracket, and attach the Swash to the bracket and connections. The Swash includes a T-valve installed directly below the toilet water tank to direct filtered household water to a small reservoir within the unit. The Swash operates on standard 120 volts AC and is equipped with a four foot cord.

Do I need an electrical outlet?
Yes. You will need a three prong GFCI grounded outlet (e.g., outlet that has a safety breaker in it -- same as those found in kitchens). If your outlet is more than four feet from the toilet, a grounded extension cord is necessary.

What maintenance is required?
Swash seats are made of germ-resistant plastic. They can be cleaned with a soft, wet cloth and a mild detergent. For complete cleaning, the Swash can be easily detached from its mounting bracket.
Although Swash wands are self-cleaning, Brondell recommends they be cleaned with a soft brush monthly or as needed. Brondell recommends water filters be cleaned regularly, which will vary depending on your water source.
Any maintenance issue can be discussed with Brondell product support at 1-888-542-3355.

Can a Swash be used by children, elderly, and handicapped?
Absolutely! Children love using a Swash and they are wonderful for parents with children who are potty-trained but not yet able to clean themselves. Elderly and handicap people can use a Swash because they are so easy to use and so effective in their ability to provide complete cleanliness.

Does the seat stay heated at all times?

a. Off (no heat)
b. Heated to one of three temperature settings, remaining on at the prescribed setting.
c. To Energy Save mode, which sets the seat to off (no heat) for a specific time period.
